Brothers and Sisters,
After a long and at times difficult process, we are happy to present a Tentative Agreement that reflects meaningful progress for the members of this department.
Following the previous vote, your concerns were heard clearly. Your bargaining team returned to the table and continued working to address the issues that mattered most to the membership. Those conversations resulted in several significant improvements and protections that are now included in this agreement.
No agreement is perfect, and every member will evaluate this contract differently based on where they are in their career and personal priorities. However, this agreement represents real movement forward while protecting many of the benefits and standards that members fought hard to build over many years.
For a complete breakdown of all proposed changes, improvements, protections, and article updates, please carefully review the educational outline and supporting materials that have been provided to the membership, LINKED TO THIS PAGE BELOW
Throughout this process, the professionalism, feedback, and engagement from the membership played a major role in helping shape the final product now being presented. Your voice mattered throughout these negotiations.
If you have any questions, concerns, or uncertainties regarding the Tentative Agreement, please reach out directly to someone on the negotiations team: Alex Jonker, Pete Falk, Derek Fleischner, Armando Sanchez, Brandon Pellecer, Bert Fernandez, or Ryan Diaz.
We ask all members to help ensure accurate information is being shared throughout the department. Please avoid spreading rumors, assumptions, or false information regarding the agreement. If there is uncertainty about any topic, ask questions directly so we can provide factual clarification.
What’s Next?
- Awaiting the finalized redline legislative copy.
- Educational session dates will be announced.
- Membership ratification vote.
- City Commission meetings, including two required readings for pension-related changes.
Regardless of differing opinions throughout this process, we remain one department and one union. Our collective strength has always come from standing together, staying engaged, and continuing to advocate for the firefighters of this city, present and future.
Thank you for your continued professionalism, patience, and support throughout this process.
In Solidarity,
Hollywood Professional Firefighters
